New Orleans
travel guide
every day is mardi gras in new orleans and I mean that. this is definitely one of my top favorite cities to visit in the states. it's become a fabulous destination for bachelorette's, birthdays or any fun celebratory event. there’s plenty to do, see, and eat here, which I will promptly get to! this heavily French influenced city has created a complete niche culture of its own. It's a big blend of french-creole tradition, purple/green/gold aesthetic, fried delicious foods, and live jazz music surrounding you all at the same time.
new orleans is also famously known for its jazz music. you can find live jazz performances throughout the french quarter where all the mardi gras madness happens. as far as important dates go, mardi gras usually starts in january or february and last for up to two weeks leading up to fat tuesday. during this celebration there are parades, floats, colorful jester-theme costumes, lots of beads and more live music. make hotel or airbnb reservations ahead of time for mardi gras because it draws in a very big crowd. visit new orleans has all the up to date events happening year round in the city.
